I have a BMW F800ST 2010 year which failed to start from warm – no previous problems.
It was towed home and my local bike mechanic discovered that the main wiring loom had been burnt at both ends. He suspects this could be an alternator problem. Parts so far have cost £500 and investigation is on going. Bike still being rebuilt.
BMW advised me to fit a new loom/looms and it should be OK……
There is NO MAIN FUSE in the electrics as it is ‘protected’ electronically I’m informed.
